SAVE OUR NHS
To: The Rt.Hon. Patricia Hewitt, Secretary of State for Health.
WE THE UNDERSIGNED protest at the unacceptable proposals for the NHS in Gloucestershire, including the closure of Battledown children's ward as a 24 hour inpatient ward, the probable closure of St. Paul's maternity wing at Cheltenham General Hospital and the threats to many other services from mental health to rehabilitation. We believe the cause is not local NHS mismanagement but systematic underfunding of national government initiatives and targets and call on the government to find solutions to the crisis it has itself caused.
